Save the Date: Procedural Justice, Police Legitimacy and Cultural Competency Course at Delta College Police Academy

On October 17-18, 2018, BAF-Fortitude is scheduled to conduct a 21st Century Policing Course on Procedural Justice, Police Legitimacy and Cultural Competency at Delta College Police Academy, Michigan.

Settlement payouts are out of control.  The vast majority of officer misconduct settlements are a result of poor judgment and weak leadership.  The thought that the issues facing BIG Cities can’t happen in your jurisdiction is like buying a discount first-class ticket on the Titanic—great feeling, great view but the voyage will end badly.  The evidence is undeniable.  Officer misconduct is a real issue in every jurisdiction across the nation.

Why This Course?  There is no shortage of Law Enforcement courses online or live.  This course is unique and about CHANGING MINDSET, and not stepping on an unseen landmine which will be devastating to a police or sheriff department.  It is the ONLY course of its type.  This course goes into areas such as Changing Mindset, How to Build Trust, The Importance of Values, The Rules of Poverty, Guardian Vs. Warrior, Fear, and more…

The Seminar is a two-day engagement. It will include Procedural Justice topics such as Changing Mindsets with 21st Century Policing, Personal Biases, Policing Principles and Policing Rules of Engagement.

The course will then turn attention to the topic of Police Legitimacy. Several of the topics covered will include the importance of Values, emphasizing the “Four Principles of Just Behavior,” as noted in the 21st Century Policing Report, Authority and Power, Police Leadership and Level Four Communications will also be covered as major topics of discussion.

Finally, and the key to the course is the issue of Cultural Competency. In subjects discussed, we include Racial Profiling, the Social Landscape, Rules of Poverty, Transparency and Trust and many more critical topics of importance for the Law Enforcement Professional.
